In a bid to inspire hope and ambition among the children in Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, the Chairman, Hon Rasaq Ajala (HRA), spearheaded a motivational event aimed at empowering children to overcome socio-economic obstacles and achieve success irrespective of their upbringing.
The event, held on Sunday April 7, 2024, brought together over 2000 children and featured a lineup of accomplished professionals born and raised in the community, sharing their stories of triumph.
Addressing the enthusiastic children, HRA emphasized the importance of ambition and resilience, highlighting that one’s origins should never hinder their aspirations.
He decried societal vices and urged children to look beyond negative influences, stressing that success is attainable through dedication and education.
The event resonated with a strong message of empowerment, as a diverse group of speakers—ranging from lawyers and doctors to engineers—shared personal anecdotes and practical advice on navigating career paths.
Dr Olalekan Fadolapo, Director General of ARCORN, Barr Yahya Ismail, Dr Hamzat Bakri, Dr AbdulWasiu Moshood, Dr Bolanle Adelakun, and Engineer Aminu were among those who imparted invaluable wisdom to the children.
Alhaja Muhibat Omokehinde Ajala, the LCDA Chairperson, emphasized the importance of integrity and good behaviour, urging children to uphold societal values and steer clear of destructive influences.
The gathering was graced by esteemed community figures, including the LCDA Vice-Chairman, Hon Seyi Jakande; Secretary to the LCDA, Hon Mujeeb Ayinde Daramola; and APC Chairman, Hon Ismail Babatunde Kazeem (TUNKAZ), underscoring the significance of the event in the local landscape.
