Lagos State police have intercepted two suspects involved in a burglary, seizing stolen goods and apprehending the perpetrators.
The Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, reported that the arrest occurred during a routine stop-and-search conducted by patrol officers from the Oko-Oba Division at approximately 6:30 am.
According to Hundeyin, the suspects, identified as 24-year-old Adeyemi Ibrahim and 45-year-old Taiwo Adisa, were traveling in a mini-bus, locally known as Korope, when officers discovered one generator, one gas cylinder, and one Bluetooth speaker in their possession.
“Upon interrogation, it was revealed that the items were stolen from a shop in the Iju-Ishaga area.”
Efforts were immediately made to contact the shop owner for the return of the stolen property. Subsequently, the suspects were taken into custody for prosecution, highlighting the commitment of law enforcement in ensuring justice and curbing criminal activities in the region.
The successful operation underscores the importance of proactive policing measures, including regular stop-and-search initiatives, in deterring and apprehending criminals.
The police remain vigilant in safeguarding the community and will continue to collaborate with residents to maintain peace and security across the state.
