“As we approach the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan, many among the younger generation of scholars and clerics may be inclined to criticize our spiritual leaders and predecessors. However, it is crucial to recognize that it is not our inherent duty to engage in insults. Instead, let us seize this period to enlighten and educate our Muslim brothers and sisters,” emphasized Imam Oladele.
He highlighted a crucial oversight, stating, “We often neglect to acknowledge that these revered individuals laid the bedrock for Islamic and Arabic knowledge in our country. Leveraging the resources available to them during their time, they wholeheartedly imparted the wisdom they possessed. Consequently, casting aspersions or undermining their efforts reflects a lack of fairness on our part.”
