The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has secured Federal Government approval to extend the deadline for the 2024 Hajj registration.
The revised date now stands at January 31, 2024, granting an additional opportunity for individuals to partake in the sacred pilgrimage.
The fervent calls for an extension from diverse religious communities underscore the imperative of ensuring broader access for the faithful who are eager to embark on the spiritual odyssey of Hajj.
NAHCON, in response to this overwhelming request, expresses confidence that, with the collaboration of its sister agencies, the Commission will ascertain the total cost of the 2024 Hajj before the expiration of the new deadline.
This extension, therefore, serves as a window for new registrants to enroll and for existing participants to fulfill any outstanding payments by the end of January.
NAHCON takes this opportunity to remind intending pilgrims and stakeholders that the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has slated February 25 as the deadline for signing all contracts, signaling the cessation of payments into IBAN accounts.
With the granted extension, NAHCON now faces a compressed timeframe to finalize the payment of all Hajj deposits into its IBAN account for the upcoming 2024 Hajj.
Despite the extension challenging NAHCON’s preparatory timeline, Chairman Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi reaffirms the Commission’s commitment to accommodating stakeholder concerns.
He expresses gratitude to religious leaders, state boards, and governors for their advocacy on behalf of the pilgrims, considering this collaborative effort as a testament to the shared commitment to facilitating a meaningful and inclusive Hajj experience for all.
Malam Arabi extends his prayers for the success of 2024 Hajj operations and urges all Hajj handlers to utilize this extended opportunity effectively.
