In a concerted effort to address Nigeria’s pressing security issues, key governmental figures convened today at the Army War College Nigeria (AWCN) in Asokoro, Abuja.
The Interagency Seminar for Participants of AWCN Course 8/2024 brought together distinguished leaders, including Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who actively engaged in discussions aimed at formulating actionable strategies.
The seminar featured an esteemed panel comprising National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu represented by Major Gen. P.P Malla; Chief of Defence Operations, Major General Emeka Onumajuru; Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Army, Hon. Mamudu Abdullah; Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Professor Abubakar O. Sulaiman; and the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun (represented by Deputy IG Frank Uba).
The focus of the discussions revolved around identifying and addressing the multi-dimensional security challenges confronting the nation.
Minister Tunji-Ojo emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in combating these threats effectively. Participants delved into comprehensive analyses of security concerns, exploring innovative solutions to safeguard Nigeria’s stability.
Addressing attendees, Minister Tunji-Ojo stressed the imperative of a coordinated approach across agencies to mitigate the diverse security risks facing the nation.
