In a swift operation conducted by the Lagos State Police Command, two infamous traffic robbers, identified as Olumide Oladiji and Lekan Ibrahim, were apprehended in the bustling Agungi Lekki area.
The incident, which unfolded on March 15 around 7:30 PM, sent shockwaves through the community as the brazen criminals targeted unsuspecting motorists.
According to a police source familiar with the case, the duo cunningly disguised themselves as beggars along the expressway, preying on vulnerable commuters. With calculated precision, they pounced on a motorist stuck in traffic, forcibly seizing his phone and gold necklace.

However, their criminal spree was short-lived as the vigilant victim promptly alerted patrol personnel stationed at the nearby Jakande roundabout, belonging to the Ilasan division.
Detailing the swift response, the source recounted, “A motorist while in the traffic at Agungi Lekki Laguna said that two men who disguised themselves as beggars approached him, and they forcefully collected his phone and his gold necklace.
He quickly alerted the patrolmen of the Ilasan Division stationed at the Jakande roundabout, and they swung into action speedily.”
Upon receiving the distress call, law enforcement officers swiftly descended on the scene, apprehending Olumide Oladiji and Lekan Ibrahim. Both suspects were promptly escorted to the police station for further interrogation and processing.
In a statement confirming the incident, Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer for Lagos State, assured the public of swift justice.
He affirmed, “The stolen items were recovered from them. The two suspects will be arraigned accordingly.”
