In a compassionate move preceding the onset of Ramadan fasting, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, demonstrated profound generosity by reaching out to approximately 55,000 constituents and beyond with essential food items.
The benevolent gesture was not confined to any particular group but encompassed a diverse array of recipients, including party officials from the APC, members of opposition parties, standing committees, various security outfits, the esteemed Zazzau Emirate Council, religious congregations, support groups, political stakeholders, and unions such as the NUJ, RTEAN, NUT, as well as individuals living with disabilities.
Notably, numerous religious groups were among the beneficiaries, including Ulamas, the Izala Group, Fityanu, Al Raihan (Du’a forum), Al Nadha, Al Munazzamatu, Salaf Marqaz, Salaf Mai Shago, Salaf Albani, Izala Jos, Yan Agajin Izala, Masjid, Khair, Yan Agajin Fityanu, Hisbah, Red Cross, Marayu Ciki Da Waje, Ayttam Foundation, Muslim Awareness Forum, Masallaci Abdullahi Bin Abbas, and many others.
Furthermore, the distribution initiative extended its reach to encompass staff members—both Muslim and non-Muslim—of various institutions within Zaria, including Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Kongo Campus, Federal College of Education, Hajiya Gambo Sawaba Hospital, Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria LG staff, water board staff, and ABUTH Barau Dikko, among others.
Commencing several days prior to the advent of fasting, the distribution efforts are still ongoing, underscoring the sustained commitment to alleviating the challenges faced by constituents and residents of Zaria.
In expressing gratitude, Speaker Tajudeen thanked the people of Zaria for their unwavering support and understanding, promising that such acts of benevolence would persist intermittently to address the needs of the community at large.
