The Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye branch of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has ushered in a new era by unveiling its inaugural web portal.
The portal, a first-of-its-kind initiative within the national youth organization, was introduced during a management meeting on Thursday February 29, 2024, at the LCDA council secretariat.

The local branch takes the lead as the pioneer youth organization to craft a website of such high standards, setting a noteworthy precedent for others to follow.
During the presentation, the PRO, Comrade Adenekan Olumide, and members of the publicity directorate showcased the website’s features, emphasizing its user-friendly design and responsiveness with remarkable page speed.

About the Web Portal
The portal not only features comprehensive profiles of the executives but also provides designated functional email addresses for direct official correspondence. It boasts an event log portal, allowing committees to promptly upload programme details for efficient reporting.
An interactive map and Street View panorama showcase the local branch’s location, simplifying navigation for visitors. Social media integration is seamless, directing users to the local branch’s media page with a single click on specific icons.

A dedicated blog page serves as a platform for publishing local branch news and youth council-related content. To ensure wider access, an embedded YouTube channel displays all events, acknowledging the constraints faced by members unable to attend various programs.
Taking innovation a step further, the website introduces a live streaming portal for visitors to engage in real-time with events organized by the local branch. The pièce de résistance is the database portal, where affiliate members can register and disclose their employment status. This portal aims to reveal the unemployment rate among local youths and provide insights into their employability ratio within the LCDA.
The NYCN (Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye) portal is a confirmation of its commitment to technological advancement, efficient communication, and empowering its members in navigating the challenges of youth employment.
