Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has assured the Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT) and the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) of unyielding support, emphasizing a sustained collaborative effort to enhance the well-being of the state’s residents.
During courtesy visits on Tuesday, the governor, represented by Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, conveyed the significance of Lagos State to Nigeria’s success, stating, “If we are able to do it well, we will continue to project our country in the right way.”
Sanwo-Olu highlighted the administration’s dedication to improving the lives of Lagosians through initiatives such as road infrastructure, rail projects, and the establishment of a food logistics hub.
Expressing gratitude for the visit, Governor Sanwo-Olu acknowledged NASFAT and the Pilgrims Commission’s support and collaboration in achieving the THEMES+ developmental agenda. The agenda, crucial for residents’ well-being, focuses on various sectors, including health and infrastructure.
NASFAT’s President, Ayodeji Abdul-Rauf and NCPC’s Executive Secretary, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, praised the Lagos State administration for its notable accomplishments, particularly lauding the Blue Line rail commissioned last year and anticipating the inauguration of the Red Line rail on Thursday.
Abdul-Rauf, aligning NASFAT with the THEMES+ agenda, urged the state government to provide land for the organization’s proposed modern Mother and Child Hospital, emphasizing the importance of health initiatives. He also commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for including NASFAT’s Chief Missioner, Imam Abdulazeez Onike, in the Lagos State Special Dispensation Palliative Advisory Committee.
Bishop Adegbite reiterated NCPC’s commitment to partnering with Lagos State on agriculture, technology, and leadership, with a focus on fostering peace. He appealed to the Lagos State Government to continue supporting Christian pilgrimage in Nigeria.
