The Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) is set to open a registration center at the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), Ikorodu. The aim is to provide Unique Identification numbers and LAG-ID cards for both students and staff of the institution and its surrounding areas.
During a visit to the main campus at Itoikin Road, Ikorodu, Lagos, LASRRA’s General Manager, Mrs. Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola, emphasized the commitment of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to improve the quality of life for all residents, regardless of age or educational background. She urged residents to register with LASRRA to avail themselves of the benefits.
Adebiyi-Abiola expressed gratitude for the allocation of space by the Vice-Chancellor of LASUSTECH, Professor Olumuyiwa Odusanya, for the seamless registration of the institution’s numerous students. She highlighted the necessity of a LASRRA number for admission to any Lagos State Tertiary Institution, emphasizing the agency’s plan to collaborate with other tertiary institutions.
The General Manager assured that LASRRA is prepared to take immediate ownership of the allocated space and commence operations promptly. Professor Odusanya, expressing enthusiasm for the swift commencement of operations, acknowledged the positive impact the center would have on reducing stress for students and staff.
The vice-chancellor emphasized that the center would enable the institution to closely monitor and cater to the needs of students and staff, while also reinforcing security measures around the campus. Discussions between the two leaders included potential collaborations and value additions to the institution.
Key stakeholders present at the meeting included the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Abiodun Denloye and the Director of Information and Public Relations at LASUSTECH, Mr. Lanre Kuye.
The initiative aims to streamline registration processes and enhance the overall experience for LASUSTECH’s academic community and residents in the surrounding areas.
