President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has articulated his administration’s resolute commitment to transforming Nigeria into a self-sufficient nation in food production and a notable exporter of agricultural products.
Receiving a distinguished delegation from the Global Tijaniyya Movement, led by Khalifa Muhammad Mahe Niass, President Tinubu underscored the integral role of spiritual endeavors in the nation-building process.
He reiterated his administration’s dedication to supporting religious activities and fostering collaboration between political and spiritual leaders to advance national interests and promote unity.
President Tinubu outlined a comprehensive roadmap to enhance agricultural productivity, encompassing the expansion of farmlands, provision of low-interest loans to farmers, and substantial investments in irrigation infrastructure.
Expressing a commitment to aggressive mechanization, he declared, “Nigeria will become a net-exporter of food. We are bringing thousands of tractors. Food production will be greatly expanded through aggressive mechanization. We must be productive as a people. That is the Sunnah and the principles I grew up understanding.”
The President also emphasized the administration’s dedication to equipping hospitals with modern equipment, providing healthcare professionals with training, and ensuring comprehensive health insurance coverage for every citizen. The overarching goal is to create a robust healthcare system that contributes to the overall well-being of the populace.
