The breakfast session, a recurring monthly advocacy initiative of the local branch, has previously addressed various youth-related challenges within the LCDA.
The forthcoming edition, themed “Menace of Drug Abuse,” underscores the branch’s commitment to enlightening youth about the perils of substance abuse and providing rehabilitation avenues for those affected.
During the visit, Deputy Commander Mrs Ezieyinre Chinyere welcomed the NYCN team, facilitating a meeting with the esteemed State Commander, Commander Abubakar Liman Wali (CN).
Engr Adigun Ibrahim passionately articulated the purpose of the advocacy, emphasizing its pivotal role in shaping the goals of the proposed drug abuse sensitizations and campaigns.
Expressing his delight, Commander Abubakar Liman Wali commended the timing of the visit, noting the significance of community collaborations, especially with the youth.
“This is one of the happiest days of my life,” he remarked, acknowledging the team’s commitment to elevating their community.
After extensive discussions, the visit culminated in meaningful conclusions, laying the foundation for collaborative implementations.
The state commander was presented with advocacy campaign souvenirs as a token of appreciation by Adigun and his team.
Recognizing the long-term nature of combating drug abuse, the NYCN’s advocacy efforts spotlight the importance of sustained commitment, resource allocation, and community engagement.
By addressing prevention, treatment, and societal issues, meaningful progress can be achieved in supporting individuals and communities grappling with the challenges of rampant drug abuse.
