The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is set to host a pivotal national dialogue on Wednesday, targeting the escalating issue of youth involvement in cybercrimes.
The event, to be held at the prestigious Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja, will showcase a compelling lecture titled “Youth, Religion, and the Fight Against Corruption.”
Distinguished media figure, Dr. John Momoh, Chairman and CEO of Channels Television Media Group, will delve into the influential role of religion in steering young minds away from the allure of cybercrimes.
This dialogue aims to bring together various stakeholders to devise comprehensive strategies in addressing the challenges posed by cyber-related offenses.
Anticipated participants include Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities, Rectors, and Provosts of tertiary institutions, alongside religious leaders, traditional rulers, youth groups, civil society organizations, and political figures.
The breadth of representation underscores the multi-faceted approach the EFCC is taking to combat economic and financial crimes.
A significant highlight of the event will be the unveiling of the Interfaith Preaching and Teaching Manual.
Developed by the Interfaith Anti-corruption Advisory Committee (IAAC) of the EFCC, this manual will serve as a doctrinal guide against corruption in both Christian and Islamic faiths.
Additionally, the Commission will introduce the Fraud Risk Assessment Prevention and Control Project for Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
His Excellency, President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, is slated to be the guest of honor and will present both publications to the public.
The launch is emblematic of the EFCC’s commitment to engaging diverse stakeholders in the relentless fight against economic and financial crimes, embodying the vision of the Executive Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, for a collective and multi-dimensional effort.
