The Lagos State Government has vehemently denied any connection to the recent demolition at Computer Village in Ikeja.
The structure in question, owned by the Police Officers Wives Association (POWA), reportedly ordered the demolition, setting the record straight on the controversial incident.
Addressing the speculations and false claims, Gbenga Omotoso, the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Strategy, labeled those spreading the news of Lagos State Government’s involvement as “opportunistic ethnic chauvinists.”
He accused them of propagating misinformation to serve their own divisive agendas.
Omotoso emphasized that the alleged misinformation is nothing more than vacuous propaganda aimed at fueling a “fiendish mission” to sow discord among Lagosians.
Despite the attempts to create division, the government spokesperson expressed confidence that these efforts would ultimately fail.
As the controversy surrounding the Computer Village demolition unfolds, residents and stakeholders eagerly await further clarification on the circumstances leading to POWA’s decision to demolish the structure.
“Those circulating the fake news that Lagos State Government is demolishing Computer Village are opportunistic ethnic chauvinists who will always relish in vacuous propaganda that can fuel their fiendish mission; they will always fail in dividing Lagosians,” Omotoso said.
