The Lagos Police Command has apprehended a woman identified as Dorcas Oluwabukola for allegedly bathing her husband in scalding water.
The incident unfolded on December 18, stemming from a dispute that erupted when the husband attended a friend’s wedding without inviting his wife to accompany him.
Confirming the arrest, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos Police Command, informed journalists on Monday about the distressing incident.
The Meiran Police Division acted swiftly upon receiving information and apprehended the suspect on the same day.
The couple’s disagreement reportedly escalated into accusations of infidelity, leading to a heated altercation. In a fit of rage, the wife, Dorcas Oluwabukola, reportedly boiled water and proceeded to pour it on her husband.
The victim is currently undergoing treatment at an undisclosed hospital, while the police have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter.
The crux of the issue appears to be the husband’s decision to attend the wedding without his wife, a move that triggered a heated argument between the couple.
The husband had initially planned to attend the wedding with his spouse, but a last-minute change of heart led him to go alone, provoking the ire of his wife.
The consequences of this marital dispute are now unfolding within the legal system as law enforcement works to uncover the details surrounding the incident.
