In a poignant ceremony held at the Adeyemi-Bero Auditorium, Alausa, Ikeja, the Lagos State Government bid farewell to 14 esteemed Permanent Secretaries who retired from the State Civil Service in 2023.
The pens-down ceremony, a symbol of both celebration and gratitude, marked the culmination of their unblemished and meritorious public service careers.
Addressing the gathering, the Head of Service (HoS), Olabode Agoro, underscored the significance of the occasion, expressing joy and pride in honoring individuals who had made outstanding contributions to the growth and development of the state’s public service.
Recognizing their commendable service, Agoro highlighted the retirees’ dedication, loyalty, and untold sacrifices throughout their careers.
“As the newest members of the Association of Lagos State Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries (ALARHOSPS),” Agoro remarked, “the government looks forward to benefiting from their vast reservoirs of information for policy formulation and implementation to propel the State forward.”
Sunkanmi Oyegbola, the Permanent Secretary of the Public Service Office, joined in congratulating the retirees for their meritorious and unblemished retirement. She expressed gratitude on behalf of the vibrant Body of Lagos State Permanent Secretaries and the entire public service.
Responding on behalf of the retirees, Bamgboye Abiodun expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Government for the opportunity to serve.
He offered advice to those still in active service, urging them to contribute their quota to the improvement of the state and humanity.
The distinguished Permanent Secretaries celebrated at the Pens-Down Ceremony include Okelola Oludara Oyebisi, Abiodun Bamgboye, Ogunnubi Timothy Olukayode, Olajide Charles Adeboye, Fashola Simone Olayinka, Nathan-Marsh Oyinade, and Patunola-Ajayi, Olayinka Linda.
The roster continued with Amuni Abayomi Mustapha, Dapo-Thomas Boladele Aderemi, Kilanko Asisat Olaperi, Onasanya Olayiwole Shakiru, Daramola Olufemi Olubunmi, Adewuyi Moshood Adewale, and Emokpae Olatokunbo Ibironke.
As these distinguished individuals embark on a new chapter, their legacy in the annals of Lagos State’s public service remains a testament to excellence, dedication, and unwavering commitment.
