Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has granted a 19-day holiday for employees at the party’s national headquarters.
The joyous news was unveiled through a circular affixed at the entrance of the APC secretariat in Abuja, penned by the Director of Administration, Prof A. A. Adediwura.
The decision to grant the extended break was disclosed in a memo titled ‘End of the Year break,’ emphasizing the importance of ensuring a smooth journey for staff members intending to travel outside the Federal Capital Territory during the holiday season.
The 19-day respite commenced on Wednesday and will extend until the reopening of the secretariat on January 8, 2024, marking the commencement of normal activities.
While the circular outlined the general break, it also acknowledged the potential for select staff members to be called back for essential tasks during this period.
The careful consideration for the convenience of those with travel plans, combined with the flexibility for recalling staff when necessary, reflects the party’s commitment to balancing celebration and responsibilities.
Ganduje’s announcement follows his recent participation in the official launch of the book ‘APC and Transition Politics,’ authored by prominent APC figure Malam Salihu Lukman.
The National Chairman’s engagement in literary activities and subsequent benevolent decision to grant a substantial holiday underlines the APC’s acknowledgment of the significance of both intellectual pursuits and festive celebrations.
In the circular’s closing remarks, Adediwura extended warm wishes for a successful end-of-the-year celebration and a prosperous New Year to all staff members, encapsulating the spirit of camaraderie and goodwill that permeates the holiday season.
The APC’s 19-day break stands as a testament to the leadership’s recognition of the hard work put in by its employees throughout the year, offering a well-deserved opportunity for rest and rejuvenation as they usher in the New Year.
