In a significant stride towards enhancing infrastructure and addressing longstanding challenges, the Kwara State government has successfully implemented an 11KV dedicated power line network, illuminating the Emir of Ilorin’s palace and its surroundings in the State capital.
Commissioner for Energy, Engr. AbdulAzeez Kola AbdulGaniy, confirmed the completion of the dedicated power line during a visit to His Royal Highness, Alhaji, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu Gambari (CFR).
The power line, extending from the Odo-Okun Sawmill transmission station to Oja Oba in Ilorin, exemplifies the government’s commitment to providing essential services to the people.
Engr. AbdulGaniy emphasized the administration’s dedication to infrastructural development, citing it as a fulfillment of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s campaign promises.
He stated, “Governor AbdulRazaq-led administration is very passionate about the infrastructural development of the State.”
Expressing his gratitude, the Emir of Ilorin, HRH, Alhaji, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu Gambari (CFR), commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for delivering on his promise of a dedicated power line to the palace.
The Emir highlighted the transformative impact, stating, “In the past, the Emir’s palace had always been in the dark at night, but the Governor has restored an uninterrupted power supply, improving the standard of living for residents.”
HRH, Alhaji, Dr. Sulu Gambari, offered prayers for the continued prosperity of the State and the well-being of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. He acknowledged the efforts of the Commissioner for Energy and the entire entourage for their commitment to realizing this crucial project.
Accompanying the Commissioner on his visit were key figures, including the Director of Personnel, Finance and Supply, Alhaji Hassan Taiye Afodun; Ag. Director of Electrical Engineering, Engr Fisayo Dada; and Principal Admin Officer, Mallam Usman Zubair, among others.
The completion of the 11KV feeder network marks a milestone in the state’s efforts to enhance public infrastructure and improve the quality of life for its residents.
