Renowned billionaire and business tycoon, Femi Otedola, has donated ₦1 billion to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund.
The philanthropic gesture took place on Wednesday, with the presentation ceremony being held at the distinguished Lagos House in Marina.
This was disclosed by Jubril Gawat, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Lagos State Governor.
Gawat conveyed that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu graciously accepted the substantial sum, which was physically handed over by Otedola’s daughter, Teniola Otedola.
In a public statement, Gawat remarked, “Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, today received the cheque of N1 billion donation by a patriotic citizen and an ambassador of Lagos State, Mr. Femi Otedola, to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund. The presentation was made by his daughter, Ms. Tolani Otedola, today at the Lagos House, Marina.”
He continued, highlighting Otedola’s consistent support for the fund, emphasizing the businessman’s longstanding commitment to bolstering security efforts in the state. The philanthropic act comes in the wake of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s December announcement, during the unveiling of a newly-built police station in the Alimosho Local Government Area, underscoring the critical role of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund in supporting federal security agencies and local safety initiatives.
